Hypothesis: Craig is a Forth language purist who was dissatisfied with the success of inferior programming languages, so he invented a better internet based on economic incentives, designed with the intention to ultimately replace the entire world economy, and he put Forth at the core to ensure that long-term Forth would power everything and replace all other programming languages. So long, javascript!

I was once told that nothing new was ever invented in programming languages since 70.. and all features can be already found in lisp..
Andy Rowe
@ryanxcharles So I should be focusing on forth instead of JavaScript? I've been digging into node.js to play with planaria.
ryanxcharles
forth is what is inside bitcoin
javascript is most likely what you want for applications
learn both of them
Andy Rowe
I like your theory here.

interesting article, nice find.. @OhGodAGirl

Bitcoin is the reason I am an ASM maximalist.
OhGodAGirl
Much to the chagrin of my engineering team.

Forth FTW.
JW
@OhGodAGirl haha i’m not there yet, but if you have any more resources to share, i would really appreciate it.. :leichtes_lächeln:
OhGodAGirl
Are you looking to learn Forth, Script, or ASM?
OhGodAGirl
When I started way back in the boonie era, I picked up a lot of the syntax from here: https://skilldrick.github.io/easyforth/
OhGodAGirl
Forth is a little like working with a giant Jenga stack. That will help you visualise how your arguments work.

You can feel free to ping me if you need guidance.

Nowadays I recommend programmers start in Rust to get comfortable with logic so they don’t have to do manual memory management, then work their way into C to learn manual management then down to ASM. Forth sits between ASM and C, and you pretty much can pick it up if you are native in ASM. Every step of the way I recommend taking the same application and porting it. Will teach you a ton about how to take the same use case and adjust.
Brendan
That’s an awesome approach
Andy Rowe
Thanks for the suggestion. :metal:

Also if you start getting into blockchain programming of any kind? Build a chess app or clock. Best way to teach you OP_CODEs and how they work.

Cool. I've been wading into node.js and planaria but I'm missing some fundamentals still. I was a copy/paste java dev a few years ago in my spare time. Spending some time getting reacquainted with linux this week.
